Bayern Munich have confirmed that midfielder Jamal Musiala has suffered a thigh muscle tear in training and will be sidelined for an unspecified period of time.

The club issued an official statement on their website, saying that Musiala had a muscle fiber tear in his left thigh and had to end his training session prematurely. The diagnosis was made by the Bayern team doctors.

The statement also said that defender Benjamin Pavard missed the team training due to illness, while winger Serge Gnabry was recovering from a right thigh injury and hoped to return soon.

Musiala, 20, is one of the brightest talents in German football and has scored four goals in 12 appearances for Bayern this season.
